This shoot went down last week in the studio as part two of a portfolio shoot, this time we were shooting bikini, Lingerie and other sexy clothings. But, Just as the model was done preparing herself, the power went off and we had to wait until it was back on which took forever. After it was back, we didn’t have much time so we couldn’t manage to do the full shoot .. there was no time to reschedule as the model was trying to beat some deadlines. She later came by the studio to inform me that she had been picked for the role. she was also kind enough to pass my contacts around which got me number of calls.
I was hired to shoot a bunch of college/university beauties a top KICC. The shoot didn’t go as well as I had planned as there were lots of people who had come to enjoy view of the city from up there, but what really messed up the day, was the rain ..
Adapt is what professionals do ..yea we don’t back down.. so I took the beauties a storey down .. the lighting down there sucked big time but I found a few spots with light I could use. as usual I had to do a lot of directing to get nice poses….so how do I pose/sit/stand? is one question I `ve gotten used to. Photography is more than just the knowing your equipment.
Some time back I was asked to shoot a portfolio with the client requesting to be depicted as an athlete. At the time of booking the shoot the client had no notable muscles but after two months of training he was able to achieve some. The shoot went down in the studio on black and white backdrops. With the help of Stylist Kayndeto who brought the props and Sonniek whose make up skills helped athletise and create the sweaty straight out of the court and into the studio effect. The model had to be oiled first and at some point some water sprinkled on him.
Been a long time ey?. new year new resolutions. This year I resume frequent bloging so keep it locked. Last month I got to do my first wedding.. been passing wedding jobs felt it was not my thing, but after shooting these, I feel it is something I can do. Shooting weddings is a bit complicated due to unpredictable lighting and such but with a fast lens, a steady hand and a third eye it can be tonnes of fun
While shooting these I put into use some skills I acquired from Onetouch that is stepping onto toes of other photographers who come in your way… we had lots of other photographers brandishing DSLRs, Compacts, phones you name it….even Aunts had turned in to photographers!…. being the Official or call it main shooter those who crossed my line got to know who’s boss as courtesy is something I could not find time for.
Part II is coming soon the images were far too many to fit into one post.
I ain’t got much to say. Enjoy!… oh hehe almost forgot.. if you are not new here you’ll notice I`m rocking a new blog design
.
